Bokeo, Laos: The Gibbon Experience

Nic pulling himself into the platform. He was an expert by the end of the trip and never had to pull himself in.

Packing up to move to our new tree house!! We had some night-time visitors the first night. Jungle rats came to check out our food situation and everyone heard them sneaking around, but people were too scared to open their canopy to see!! The guide said that if you don't have all of you food put away they would come up from the ground. The next night we made sure to lock all of our food up!!!

Here is a shot of our mid-day snack. Some fruit and crackers brought to us by our guide. There was a kitchen near our tree house where they prepared the food. It was so crazy that the only way into and out of the tree house was by zip-line. The bathroom was right there in the tree house, a squat toilet, sink and a cold cold shower....the best view I have ever had from a toilet!!!

Nic was brave enough to snap some shots from the zip-line!! So glad he didn't drop the camera!! We managed not to burn ourselves on the line unlike some of the Brits we were with. Emily got a huge burn on her neck and hand!!

Here I am gearing up for a day of adventure in the canopy!!

Oh my gosh!!! What a great experience you guys are having. I would have freaked out hearing the rats scurring around. Looks like the ride into the jungle was alittle dicey! So glad you are safe and sound. Love you guys, Mom
