Luang Prabang, Laos

On top of Phu Si, one of the best views in Luang Prabang. You climb up hundreds of steps to this stunning gold temple. We decided that this hike would served as our morning calisthenics. The view was nice and it was fun to see where we had biked the day before.
Nic wanted to ge this shot of me as we exited the Royal Palace Museum. He thought it looked like the background to a CD cover or something.

We decided to eat cheap our last night, two bowls of noodles for 2 bucks. Not to bad. We also got to experience the local dinner scene with this choice. We sat around a picnic table with some locals and tried to imitate their skills with the chopsticks and spoon, the trick is to pick-up with the chopsticks and scoop up the broth with the spoon.

We rented bikes on our second day in the city. This place is truly a gem of a town. I loved riding around and just stopping off at little shops or scenic outlooks along the way. My favorite aspect of Luang Prabang is the quaint culture with modern inexpensive ammenities. We stayed at a beautiful guesthouse with a European style bathroom....SO nice when compared to what we had been staying at. I felt at home in this town. Not very many motorbikes around, and fresh air. I will definitely be coming back here.

The two of us in front of a temple. So many beautiful ones to see in Laos.

If I had to eat soup with chops sticks, I'd be dropping pounds in a hurry. Great to keep up with your adventures, both the good and the not so good. The roll looked tasty. Love Dad
