Nha Trang, Vietnam

Here's a picture of our trip to the airport. Motorbikes are everywhere in the big cities in south east asia and Hanoi is no different. They were constantly weaving in and out of traffic lanes as well as on and off the sidewalks to get where they needed to go. A pedestrian truely is never safe in this busy city.

The plane ride from Hanoi to Nha Trang was about 2 hours. The view as we were decending to our destination was awesome. We had yet to see the ocean since our trip started and a day relaxing on the beach looked pretty good to us right now.
Here is a shot of Nic and I with the lovely Luu Thanh family, who picked us up from the airport and took us out for dinner. Many people may be wondering how we got this connection. Phung the woman in the picture has a sister who lives in Perry, Iowa, where Nic's family is from. It was so great to be able to meet with a Vietnamese family and see how they live. At this dinner we got to try all sorts of different dishes. Such good food and great people.
Here is Nic at the beach in Nha Trang. There was this nice resturant right next to our chairs we layed out in. He is sporting his new Beerlao shirt and sunglasses that he purchased at the Luu Thanh family's glasses shop.
