Ho Chi Mihn City, Vietnam

Our first night in HCMC. We got some late night snacks at place called Santa's Bar....interesting. They had good beer and french fries. We sat up on the 2nd floor, where we could get a better look at the streets below.

This was our view.

Here are some of the goods (pig ears) at Ben Thanh Market. This place was ginormous. It housed everything from knock-off Polo T-shirts to frog legs. We took our time and waded through it. Along the way we purchased some chopsticks and a nice case for them. This seems like it would be an easy thing, considering they were everywhere, but no. Bargaining is an artform in Vietnam. Everything has a "tourist price" and breaking the salesperson down can be hard. We eventaully got a fair price for our chopsticks, but I wouldn't want to know what a local would pay for them.

Here I am in the mix of pure and utter chaos.

During the New Year celebrations they block off some street in HCMC for displaying tons of flowers and statues made out of flowers. This year is the year of the Ox. There were Ox's everywhere (made out of flowers of course).
