Ho Chi Minn City, Vietnam

Here you can get a small glimpse of the thousands of decorations covering the city. There are sunny yellow flowers mixed with communist red flags and ribbons. This places loves to dress-up for a party and we have seen the preparation for the Lunar New Year almost everywhere. We are excited to get to experience such festivities.

Here is the Notre Dame Cathedral, a Neo-Romanesque structure with a large statue of the Virgin Mary out front. This picture is funny becasue Nic thought that he wasn't going to get into the picture so he is on his tippe-toes :)

This is the saddest thing I have ever seen. These adorable little balls of fur were literaly lying on top of one another. The ones of top were attached by their necks with a piece of twine. The worst part was when the woman selling the pups drove off. One of the pups on top fell off the back and was hanging itself becasue it couldn't get back up. I would have run after her but she was too fast on her motorbike. I was so disturbed and was a huge crying mess. That poor little dog. Luckily we saw someone flag her down in the distance and she put it back on. I was so upset.

On our first day in HCMC we went to the War Remnants Museum. It basically went over the Vietnam war from the Vietnamese perspective. It was good to see their side. There were many things that I didn't even know about the war, so it was nice to learn more. There were tons of graphic photographs some were alomst too much.

This photo got misplaced in this section, but it is a nice memory of the beach. I decided to get a manicure and pedicure beachside after the woman pestered me for around 2 hours. I finally caved after making a really good deal....two for the price of one. The hard part was walking back to my chair!
